At the suggestion of my friend Mark, who works for a large chain bookstore, I've 'unbundled' two short stories from my ebook short story collections, A RAIN OF PEBBLES and A TAPESTRY OF TWO TALES and put the stories out as $.99 ebooks, the idea being that since so many people look for $.99 (or less) titles for their Kindles, Nooks, etc., one way to drive sales is to have some offerings at a low price that will cause the reader -- if they like the story -- to look up more of your work.
So, as part of the continuing experiment in the ebook world, "When We Come Down" (from A RAIN OF PEBBLES) and "The Gods of Every Other Wednesday Night" (from A TAPESTRY OF TWELVE TALES) are now available for $.99 from Amazon and B&N (and possibly eventually Apple and Kobobooks as well; we'll see how it goes...). Both stories are novelette length. Next week, I might offer one more story from each collection.
FWIW, both stories already have sales without my having said anything about them to anyone... Here's where you can get 'em:
"When We Come Down"
-- order at Amazon
-- order at B&N
"The Gods of Every Other Wednesday Night"
-- order at Amazon
-- order at B&N
And here, just for grins, are the covers I cobbled together for them...

Though can I encourage you away from Garamond? It's a beautiful typeface (one of my favorites), but not the best choice for book covers except in a narrow range of topics.

How was the restaurant, BTW?

Choice of typeface depends on what the cover is trying to say. My objection to Garamond is that it's (a) a text face, and (b) rather "pretty" and not the slightest bit edgy.
I assume "Gods" is sort of hip and funky. Does it take place in a particular time period or location?
"Come Down" isn't telling me much about the contents--it's obviously science fiction, and I assume the coming down bit refers to space travel in some way. (Right now I have the Peter Gabriel end-credits song from WALL•E going through my head...)
