I spoke with Sheila, my editor at DAW Books, for about an hour and a half yesterday, and she gave me her comments on A MAGIC OF DAWN. It was an excellent conversation and, no, it wasn't an hour and a half of critique -- Sheila and I talked about 'other stuff' also, as usual. I have her comments written down in the Scrivener file for the book -- the most major of which is to add a section after the Big Final Battle to better ease the reader out of the book. So.... more words! More words! :-)

A MAGIC OF DAWN is scheduled for April of 2010 in its hardcover release (A MAGIC OF NIGHTFALL will come out in mass market paperback the month before.) And... I can't show you yet, but Sheila sent me Todd Lockwood's cover painting for the book, and it is gorgeous. It will perfectly complete the 'set' of covers for the cycle -- in fact, I think it's the best of the three, and I liked the other two a lot.

Sheila would like the final manuscript in her hands by the end of August, so it's back to DAWN for the last set of significant revisions. (Consider this a warning to my first readers: if you haven't yet sent me your comments, you need to do so very soon or it's possible you might be too late. You know who you are!)
