So I took the Macbook to the Apple Store yesterday. My diagnosis was correct:  the airport (wireless) card in my Macbook had gone suddenly belly up.  They had the part in stock, and by evening I had the Macbook back in working order.  Huzzzah!  No more having to go into Devon's old bedroom (where the Airport router lives) and  tether the laptop with an ethernet cable to check my e-mail and browse the interweb.  It was interesting to note just how many times over the last few days that I'd be in my office working and kick up the browser to check something (usually for research for writing), only to have the browser snarl at me for not being connected to the internet.

Reflexes... I mean, I knew the wireless wasn't working.

At the same time I brought in the Macbook, I had them check that my iPhone was still in warranty; it was.  I haven't been able to connect with wireless on it for a few months now -- but that was something I did rarely anyway, so if it had been out of warranty, I would have said "Oh, well.." and continued on.  But it was... so they gave me a replacement phone.

So I'm feeling very 'connected' today...  Yay.
