Following up on the Iowa Supreme Court's decision that the state ban on same-sex marriage was unconstitutional, the Vermont legislature had overridden their governor's veto of a bill legalizing same-sex marriage. So Vermont joins the club of states that recognize same-sex marriage.

And noted in the same article: adding icing to the growing cake, the Washington D.C. Council has voted that D.C. will recognize same-sex marriages performed in other states. So if you're a gay couple married in Vermont, Iowa, Connecticut, or Massachusetts, you're also married in D.C.

Who's next? And California: shame, shame, shame!
