I can hear you knocking, but you can't come in.

Today's Pandemic World Basement Tape recording is Sarah Jarosz's "House of Mercy." I stumbled across her live recording of this tune a few years back—she was playing mandocello, which is a lovely-sounding instrument and one I certainly would like to have myself one day. But what really caught me was her voice and the lyrics of this. Mind you, this is a song a woman should be singing, but I still had to try it and ever since, it's been part of my solo set list.
