Two finches. One 'house' and one 'gold;, one male and one female. The goldfinch appears to be rather quizzical as it hangs sideways on the feeder's loop. (EDITED TO ADD: No, both finches are female...)

A box magically appeared on my porch this afternoon containing copies of the Brazilian version of A MAGIC OF NIGHTFALL. I'm really impressed with LeYa's editions -- they look and feel *right*, both my books and the WILD CARDS editions I've seen. Nicely done!

Mike Resnick pointed me to a review of the magazine 'Galaxy's Edge #1", which Mike edits and is published by Arc Manor. The magazine appeared a year ago or so, but better late than never...

The reviewer on the SF Site said this about my story in the magazine: ""The Bright Seas of Venus," by Stephen Leigh isn't the kind of story you would expect to be featured here as it stands out as one of the best in this issue. The title is deceptive as much as it is amusing and the entire short story (one of the shortest in here) is taken from the point of view of the writer, Stephen Leigh. I felt I had to pick out my two favourites from this first issue, and these were the ones that stood out for me, but there will be many who think differently."

Nice to know I was one of the two favorites...
