Morning Bird Pic

In pictures of cardinals that I've seen in various places, there's a decided preference to show the male, since the plumage is so striking. The female cardinal is often ignored. But I think that female is also interesting and more subtle, not quite so in-your-face-hey-I'm-RED.

The Amazon/Hachette War

Even though I'm not a Hachette author, Amazon tactics in its fight with Hachette are reprehensible and more damaging to authors than anyone else. As in most wars, it's the little people who suffer the most.
