Received my contributor's copy for MAN VS. MACHINE, an anthology edited by John Helfers and the ubiquitous Martin H. Greenberg and published by DAW Books. The book contains my short story "Transformation," which I'm quite pleased with. John had been a little concerned that DAW wasn't going to let some of the language pass, but they didn't squawk.

Pick up the anthology if you get a chance: I share the pages with lots of good authors: Jane Lindskold, Fred Saberhagen, Brandan DuBois, Loren L. Coleman, Rick Hautala, Bill Fawcett, Ed Gorman, William H. Keith, Brad Beaulieu, L.E. Modesitt, Jr., Richard Danksy, Simon Brown, Jean Rabe, Russell Davis, S. Andrew Swann. And John Helfer's a nice guy, on top of it...

Sounds interesting. Do you know what the Simon Brown story is? Imagining Ajax maybe?

Cool. And I've never known DAW to be squeamish about language.

I haven't either (not that I've particularly had to worry about it with the Cloudmages series). I was a little surprised when John mentioned his concern, and was glad to see that it turned out to be a non-issue.
