Today's mail brought the "on acceptance" check for A MAGIC OF TWILIGHT, followed a few minutes later by a call from the Literature & Language department at NKU to let me know that the Dean had approved my lectureship for next year.
"...on what subject do you lecture?" Creative Writing, mostly. I occasionally teach a 'literature' class (usually the Intro to Lit), but mostly CW. First 'job' I've ever had that I really, really enjoy.
Yeah, we decided not to come up this year to Toronto. Hope it was a swell party we missed, though!
The weather was miserable, but the company was of course delightful, even though there were few out-of-towners -- and by an odd coincidence, we were all from Michigan, those closest to Toronto.
Maia! Don Wenzel here! I was in Toronto this weekend and visited with Mike and Susan on Saturday (headed back early on Sunday, so it didn't make sense to make a 15 minute appearance).
I hope you're doing well. Okay if I add you to my friends list?
I saw that you added me to your Friends list -- thank you! -- so I dropped by your Journal to browse. It's good to hear from you again.
Congratulations on your book and teaching accomplishments. One of my current projects is developing the curriculum at the Grey School of Wizardry, including literature and foreign languages. Much fun.
I saw 's mention that you were on LJ -- welcome! It's good to hear from you again, also. Been too long, though it sounds as if you've been delightfully busy... :-)

Hey, I assume the book will be pubbed in hardcover? If so, there's a very good chance I'll be the text designer!

YAY! (Needing to ask, on what subject do you lecture? In the classroom, I mean.)
I missed the Cincinnati contingent in Toronto this weekend. I know it's a loooong way to drive though.
