Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC will be having a one-week "Shared Worlds" camp for high school juniors and seniors. The students will be creating their own world and writing fiction, creating artwork, and designing games based on the world they will be building. Each day there will be a speaker (or two) from the sf/fantasy community, and they'll also attend science classes designed to aid their creation. The culmination of the week will be a presentation each group of twelve students will make regarding their shared world.
I'll be there: I'll be giving my worldbuilding presentation on Sunday evening to open the festivities, then I'll be staying to be one of the teachers for the week. Other presenters over the week will include: Greg Keyes, Troy Denning, Jim Hines, Doug ChaffeeJack McDevitt, Laura Resnick, Scott Nicholson, John WIck, Jared A. Sorenson, Ken Hite, Jeff Mariotte, Scott Hampton, Richard Danky, and Jeremy Simmmons.
